So much so, that 1.5 million dollars have been doled out in the form of grants since 2011 to study the problem of fat lesbians.
The question is, "Why are 3/4 of lesbians obese when gay men tend to be on the skinny side?"
From the article:
My husband declares often that he's a lesbian, yet he can't keep an ounce of fat on his frame. He's as skinny as a rail. Now I realize that is purely andectodal, but perhaps we need to be asking why so many gay men are skinny. Are they in fact closet lesbians?
The question should be complex enough to get some more money, that we don't have, thrown at it.
"S. Bryn Austin, Director of Fellowship Research Training in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Austin is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health, and an Associate Epidemiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), which is a teaching hospital of (e.n. that bastion of higher education) Harvard Medical School."
"BWH first received a $778,622
In all seriousness though, am I the only one who thinks this is nothing more than a not-so-veiled-way to misappropriate government funds to gay and lesbian causes via the buzzword "study?"
But make sure the public can't tour the government buildings they pay for. Yes, the pressing issues of the obese lesbians are far too important than a bunch of 6th graders who have spent since September planned a trip to D.C. centered around a White House tour.
I wonder if Rosie O'Donnell will have a an opportunity to weigh in...
